How do I make my perfume last longer?
It's one of the most frequently asked questions in my classes and the answer is so simple.
If you like a particular product, let’s say Chanel No. 5, then go whole hog and buy the entire range – perfume, shower gel, bath soap, body cream, body oil, foaming bath, hair mist… you get the idea!
This will help the fragrance last longer on your body. A perfect idea if your birthday is coming up…
Second option (and more affordable!)
Let’s say that you cannot afford the whole range of products, do you have a problem? No, there is a very simple solution to helping your fragrance last longer: moisturize!
Perfume actually lasts longer on oily skin than dry skin.
Simple! If you do not have a moisturizer from the same range, then choose one that is unscented so you are not competing (or clashing) with your perfume. Use a body oil such as jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil, or an unscented organic lotion, all of which are fragrance free Moisturize your skin, especially the areas where you will apply perfume, then apply your scent as normal.
Want the fabulous fragrance to last even longer? Put a dab more on your clothing and even in your hair! Be careful not to apply it to silk or satin and it might stain white clothes as some perfumes are coloured.
“Fragrance Layering.” has another concept but it won't make your perfume last longer
it's just an application technique and give you more varieties of fragrance.
Try this: take two different scents and layer them over each other to get a unique scent. Jo Malone came up with this idea long ago before she sold out to Estée Lauder.
